Jamnagar, Gujarat

Shri 5 Navtanpuri Dharm is considered as the main pilgrim center of the Shri Krishna Pranami Dharma. Earlier kwown as Nawanagar, it is in Jamnagar, Saurahstra, of Gujarat. It was established by Jam Raval in 1653 A.D. (V.S.1596). When Shyama-form Shri Devchandraji left home in his childhood in search of self-enlightenment, after travelling through different places, came here only and attained his goal. He listened to the Srimad Bhagavat for 14 years continuously, and drank deeply the Essence of Krishna Lila. As a result, he was blessed with the vision of Purna Brahma Shri Krishna, who addressed him as 'Nijananda'. Shri Krishna introduced Himself, and bestowed the Maha-Mantra (or, Tartam Mantra) on him, by which his soul awakened. He was inspired by Shri Krishna to awaken other souls also, which he did, Traditionally, even today, devotees are initiated into this Mantra through a Guru. One day, when Shri Devchandraji was describing the Yamuna in Paramdham, his disciples expressed their desire to bathe in it. Instantaneously, Nijananda Swami materialised the Yamuna waters there, and the disciples had a hearty bath in it. It is present there even today. Once Acharya planted two tooth-cleaning sticks on the ground, after brushing his teeth, which grew into 2 huge trees over a period of time. Even today, after 400 years, they are still there, and are called Khijada (Sami) trees. That is why the temple is also called Khijada Mandir. Shri Devchadraji established the Najananda Sampradaya here only. By visiting Navtanpuri, people consider their lives purified from all sins.

Today, the Shri 5 Navatanpuri Dham is headed by the young, able and inspired Guru, Achrya Shri 108 Krishnamani Maharaj, who is the fourteenth Acharya in the tradition of former Acharyas.
